JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Are you a person driven by seeing others grow and find their own strength? Do you have patience, security, and a genuine interest in supporting people with mental disabilities in their daily lives? Then you are the one we are looking for!

As a residential support worker in our special accommodations, you will work with individuals with mental disabilities and comorbidity. You will be the contact person for the client and base your support on the individual's unique needs, providing assistance in daily life with a pedagogical approach. Your efforts contribute to creating security, structure, and conditions to strengthen the individual's own abilities and resources, aiming to contribute to a recovery process that can ultimately lead to the individual living a life of their own strength.

The work is independent and varied, with significant responsibility for planning and documentation, while being part of an engaged team.

Your main tasks will take place at the accommodation and may include:

  • Independently planning, structuring, and documenting interventions to break isolation and strengthen individuals' own abilities, as well as establishing action plans and following up on interventions.
  • Providing pedagogical and psychosocial support
  • Contributing to breaking isolation and strengthening the individual's functions and abilities, as well as stimulating and motivating for an active and meaningful leisure time.
  • Participating in regular meetings and internal supervision with colleagues and the unit manager at the accommodation.
  • Collaborating with authorities, care, and other actors.

The approach of the organization is based on MI, an approach where we focus on compassion, empathy, active listening, and co-determination.

OUR OFFER

  • Meaningfulness - every intervention contributes to strengthening the individual's independence and quality of life.
  • Support and structure - you will be part of a smaller team that has regular weekly meetings and opportunities for case supervision with your immediate manager and colleagues.
  • Variation and freedom - an independent job, but there is good collegial support. We base our work on individual needs assessment where each case is unique - and your role is important in the change process!

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a positive outlook and a genuine commitment to people. You are secure and responsible, while encouraging individuals to take responsibility for their own situation.

We see that you have experience and a strong interest in working with individuals who have mental disabilities and comorbidity. You are good at building trusting relationships, showing care and understanding, but can also set clear boundaries when necessary.

The formal requirements for succeeding in the role:

  • A relevant post-secondary education, such as treatment assistant, social pedagogue, or other equivalent education.
  • Good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
  • Good computer skills and experience with documentation.

It is advantageous if you have:

  • Experience working with harmful use, addiction, psychiatry, or social support.
  • Knowledge of CBT, MI, and/or low-arousal approaches.
  • Experience with similar tasks, as the position involves a lot of independent work.
  • Knowledge of the Signs of Safety method or solution-focused conversation methodology.

You are secure in yourself, have patience, and can handle challenging situations calmly and respectfully. If this describes you, we warmly welcome you to our team.

In this recruitment, we ask you to attach your CV and answer a number of selection questions.
